This weekend was the First Quarterly Pasadena Bloggers’ Picnic. Gavin and I visited with old friends and we met new friends who we had only known online before yesterday.
James from PasadenaNow.com
Kathy and Sam from Aphrodite in Jeans
Amanda and Theo from Living in Monrovia
Sarah from Cook and Nifty Wench
Frank from Unwired Adventures
Marielle from Chez Shoes and Ron from The Blurry Lens
Kelly from West Coast Grrlie Blather
Susan from 2020 Hindsight and Family Oral History Using Digital Tools (Why, oh why, did I take only one picture of you, Susan? I was so absorbed in our conversation that I forgot to keep using my camera!)
Even worse, I was so intent on photographing the cupcakes that my friend Erin from erin’s kitchen brought that I forgot to take a picture of her.

In lieu of a picnic photo, here is a picture of me and Erin at a conference we went to together last year:

Back to the picnic:
Mike from blogwaffe and Automattic
Dianne from Miss Havisham’s Tea Party
Kolby from Kahunna.net and Aaron from Aaron Proctor for Mayor of Pasadena
If you blog in or around Pasadena, and you would like to be on the email list for the next Quarterly Pasadena Bloggers’ Picnic, send me a note at eyelevelpasadena@gmail.com.
Update 6/20/07: Pasadena Pundit was previously pictured here, too. He elected to move in a fewer photos of himself on the internet direction, so I removed his picture at his request.
Next time, we shall encourage Unwired Adventures to get us hooked up with some bandwidth so we can liveblog the whole thing. (In my dreams…)
Jill, sorry if could not make it. I miscalculated my son’s soccer game time. By the way, i think I saw you at the science fair!
Ah, the curse of anonymity. We were there, but we couldn’t get close enough to be recognized: you may recall a helicopter lingering overhead briefly…
Looks like fun!
Jill,
Sad to have missed this 😦
Same tune, different day. I’m REALLY hoping to get a break at some point. But such is the life I lead (I’m on call pretty much 24/7).
So next one is in August?
[…] probably should have stayed home and gone to this […]

Why oh why is right. 😉 Not the most flattering foto ever. I shall live, tho, and it was a fun gathering.
Sorry I missed it, but I will definitely make it next time. This is such a great idea and I would love to see you again and meet other local bloggers!
WOW! What a turnout!
[…] It’s pretty well-known that I don’t get out much, but Sunday I actually made it to this. Despite the soul-sucking heat that Los Angeles has been subjected to over the past week, it made […]
I enjoyed the meeting. I wish I could have stayed longer. Great photos!
Oh, by the way, I do have the equipment that would allow live blogging, WiFi access and video streaming transmission from the park.
You referred to yourself in the 3rd person for that picture 🙂 Look how cute you are in your shorts and tennis shoes.
Argh–I just had to stay home and watch the end of the Spurs v Suns basketball game which made me miss a bunch of folks. Thanks for organizing, Jill, and I’m looking forward to the next one (and a photo of me with lipstick on!).
Wish I’d been able to be there, looks like it was so much fun – and delicious, too!
[…] with shock. And it wasn’t necessarily a shock of delight. James Macpherson was at the bloggers’ picnic on Sunday. We were all locals being local together. We were building community. We were getting to […]

Looking back at this reminds me of the myriad of hot Pasadena blogging chicks there are. e.g. Cook & Nifty Wench. Nice.
