Kelly at West Coast Grrlie Blather has posted a great collection of links about the new Whole Foods flagship store.

Bikers participating in Love Ride 24

We saw a group of people standing on a 210 freeway overpass looking down at the freeway at 9:30 this morning, so we pulled over and got out, too. When we couldn’t see anything unusual happening on the freeway, we asked one of them what was going on. We learned that a bunch of motorcyclists were on their way from Glendale to Pomona as part of California Bike Week, and that Jay Leno was going to be among them. We didn’t stay long enough to see the big mass of motorcyclists that were on their way, but we did see a few groups of bikers who were ahead of the pack.

We also saw one Santa biker.

(Advice is free. We offer no guarantees, other than that we’ll probably be happy to see you. We’ve been happy to see everyone we’ve ever met through office hours. It’s fun to meet people.)

Last week Caltech harvested its campus olives and sent them off to be pressed into olive oil.

Gena at Out On the Stoop posted video footage from our last Pasadena bloggers’ picnic.

It reminded me of how much fun I had that day — and it also reminded me that the 3rd quarterly picnic is coming up soon. If you are a local blogger and would like to receive information about the next picnic, please leave a message in the comments. All Pasadena and San Gabriel Valley area bloggers are welcome.
