This Friday night, April 6, Friends of Iranian Culture at Caltech will celebrate Nowruz (Iranian New Year) with dancing, music and food. The celebration starts at 6:00 p.m. and is free and open to the public. Caltech Today has the details.

Last night we visited Pasadena Jazz Institute and The Armory Center for the Arts.

There was a large performance space with lots of cozy little tables, and there were separate bar, pool and patio areas where you could hear the music and watch it on screen, but where you could also move around and socialize more or enjoy a little more privacy.

Pasadena Art Night is Friday, March 9 from 6-10 p.m.

Every six months in March and October, Pasadena’s museums and art schools open their doors to the public for free, and free shuttles take people from venue to venue. It’s a pretty neighborly feeling event. It’s fun to ride around in buses with people from all around town and look at art.
